Celebrity Baby Names
Starting with Letter "A"

Artists are creative by nature and often give their children quite creative names! Some are traditional, some unique, and some are, well, just down right weird. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day for these kids, though, because for the most part they were dealt a pretty good hand in life considering the wealth and stature of their respective parent(s).

Check out some of the interesting names celebs have given their children. Click on a block or drag the slider to select the first initial of the celebrity's first name.

  • To Be Announced
    To Be Announced
Oh. Em. Gee. We love Adele and are looking forward to the name of her forthcoming baby!
  • Estela and Marcelo Monteverde
    Estela and Marcelo Monteverde
After annulling her brief marriage to Mario Lopez, Ali Landry (of the Doritos commercial fame) went onto marry Mexican film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde in 2006. baby girl Estela Ines Monteverde followed in 2007 and in October 2011, the couple announced the birth of a son, Marcelo Alejandro. Pretty standard Spanish names. Nothing kooky.
  • Egypt Daoud Ibarr Dean
    Egypt Daoud Ibarr Dean
Alicia Keys and her hip-hop artist husband Kasseem David Dean (better known as Swizz Beatz) had a son on October 12, 2010 whom they named Egypt Daoud Ibarr Dean. We get the significance of Egypt for the young pop-star. After a near mental breakdown in late 2006, Alicia embarked on a solo "self-discovery" trip to Egypt for three weeks. The experience "freed" her and she's described it as "the best choice that I’ve ever made." So Egypt has a meaningful place in Key's life - and now it has more! We're not sure where Daoud Ibarr comes from (perhaps David and Abraham in some other Eastern-based language)? Fittingly, Keys also dedicated her song "Speechless" to her baby boy.
  • Bear Blu Jarecki
    Bear Blu Jarecki
Um, nope. That's not a typo you're looking at. That's the name of Alicia Silverstone's son who was born in May 2011. Bear Blu. We have to hand it to her and musician husband Christopher Jarecki for their creativity; this roaming Bear should fit in perfectly in Los Angeles. Why the weird name? Silverstone is a well-known environmentalist and animal rights activist so I can see why she was drawn to an animal name (which apparently her mother-in-law suggested). Alicia has been quoted as saying that most people think the name is cute. Well, duuuhhh. You think people are going to tell you to your face that your kid's name is lame? We also have never met a Bear that needed his food pre-chewed, but that's a different matter altogether.
  • Finley, Avery and Emery Sehorn
    Finley, Avery and Emery Sehorn
Angie Harmon has been married to former superstar football player, Jason Sehorn, since 2001. During their still successful celebrity marriage the couple has produced three darling daughters with three perfectly adorable names: Finley Faith (b. 2003), Avery Grace (b. 2005) and Emery Hope (b. 2008). Obviously we see the “virtue” themes with the girls’ middle names. Faith, Grace and Hope. But what about their first name choices? Clearly Angie and Jason are firm believers in gender-equality for their daughters because all three names are considered unisex in America. All three names are also the transferred use of surnames into given names which remains a hot trend in America today.
