Celebrity Baby Names
Starting with Letter "J"

Artists are creative by nature and often give their children quite creative names! Some are traditional, some unique, and some are, well, just down right weird. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day for these kids, though, because for the most part they were dealt a pretty good hand in life considering the wealth and stature of their respective parent(s).

Check out some of the interesting names celebs have given their children. Click on a block or drag the slider to select the first initial of the celebrity's first name.

  • Violet, Seraphina and Samuel Affleck
    JenniferGarner
    Violet, Seraphina and Samuel Affleck
Married to Ben Affleck since 2005, this "Bennifer" has three children. Their first daughter was born less than nine months following their nuptials (you know what that means) on December 1, 2005. They named her Violet Anne. Daughter #2 arrived on January 6, 2009 and was dubbed Seraphina Rose Elizabeth. The couple rounded out their family with a son this year on February 27, 2012. His name? Samuel Garner. Leave it to the classy couple to choose fashionable yet traditional names. Seraphina is especially unique and it means "fiery one". Cute, huh?
  • David Daniel Otunga Jr.
    JenniferHudson
    David Daniel Otunga Jr.
On August 10, 2009 Jennifer Hudson gave birth to a baby boy whom she named David Daniel Otunga Junior. That was easy. When you decide to have a "junior" it certainly doesn't yake much thought on what to name him. David is one of the most successful names ever and an unequivocal timesless classic. It also means "beloved darling". We are happy for Jennifer!
  • Maximilian David and Emme Maribel Muñiz
    JenniferLopez
Maximilian David and Emme Maribel Muñiz
On February 22, 2008, Jennifer Lopez and her then-husband Marc Anthony (whose real last name is Muñiz) welcomed twins Maximilian and Emme. We must admit, these names are a bit tame for this level of super stardom which is kind of refreshing. Well, not entirely. Maximilian unapologetically means "greatest" but Emme is not as familiar. It probably comes from an old Germanic root word meaning "whole, universal".
  • Evan Joseph Asher
    JennyMcCarthy
    Evan Joseph Asher
Whether you agree or disagree with this woman's active stance on autism, you have to hand it to her: she's a real lioness mom. Her son Evan Joseph Asher (b. 2002) was diagnosed with autism as a toddler and Jenny has been outspoken on the subject ever since. She even stated in her book that her divorce resulted in her husband's (and Evan's father) inability to cope with the special needs child. Although it's clear that Ms. McCarthy can deal with anything. Our prayers and belly-laughs are always with you girl!
  • Honor and Haven Warren
    JessicaAlba
    Honor and Haven Warren
Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren have two daughters. Honor Marie Warren was born in 2008 and Haven Garner Warren followed in 2011. Both girls received vocabulary word names also considered virtue names. Plus, they seem to like the “H” names, although Honor really has a silent H sound while Haven does not. There’s no confusion as to the meaning of these names, although they are a little off-beat and different (not super common choices among the masses). Honor is not even on the Top 1000 list of girl names in America and Haven is hardly popular. Honor is really about respect and admiration while Haven is all about safety and security.
  • Maxwell Drew Johnson
    JessicaSimpson
    Maxwell Drew Johnson
After a long and...er...robust pregnancy, Jessica Simpson announced the birth of her healthy 9 lb. 13 oz. baby girl on May 1, 2012. The name? Maxwell Drew. Yes, for the reality TV star turned businesswoman, we found this choice a bit of a head-scratcher. But then again, it's par for the course when it comes to celebrity. We can only ask, why choose two (commonly considered) BOY names for the girl you hope will wear Christian Louboutin heels instead of Nike running shoes? Apparently both Maxwell and Drew are family names. Perhaps they should have waited for a boy.
  • Nathan and Maggie Stewart
    JonStewart
    Nathan and Maggie Stewart
Funnyman Jon Stewart and his wife have two children. He named his son Nathan Thomas after his grandfather. His daughter is named Maggie Rose which is simply too cute for words. Not only that, but Stewart also has a cat named Stanley and two dogs named Monkey and Shamsky.
  • Hazel, Phinnaeus and Henry Moder
    JuliaRoberts
    Hazel, Phinnaeus and Henry Moder
America’s little darling Julia Roberts and her cameraman husband Danny Moder have three children. The fraternal twins Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus Walter Moder (who is called Finn) were born on November, 28, 2004, and the couple’s second son, Henry Daniel Moder came along in 2007 just prior to Robert’s 40th birthday. Hazel and Henry are names seeing a strong revival right now, but Phinnaeus has never landed a spot on the U.S. popularity charts ever. The name Finn does pretty well, but Phinnaeus is pretty funky and off-beat. But seriously, why not use the more typical spelling of Phineas just to make it slightly easier on the poor kid? (He will have the nuisance of making pronunciation and spelling corrections for the rest of his life). Phineas is a name that shows up in Greek mythology (as an oracle who is blinded by Zeus as punishment for disclosing the future to mankind) as well as in the Bible as the grandson or Aaron (who spears a man and woman Shish-Kabob style for having sex in God’s tent). Honestly. Read it for yourself in Numbers 25:14-18.
