Celebrity Baby Names
Starting with Letter "K"

Artists are creative by nature and often give their children quite creative names! Some are traditional, some unique, and some are, well, just down right weird. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day for these kids, though, because for the most part they were dealt a pretty good hand in life considering the wealth and stature of their respective parent(s).

Check out some of the interesting names celebs have given their children. Click on a block or drag the slider to select the first initial of the celebrity's first name.

  • Cara, Madelyn, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel
Cara, Madelyn, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel
Watching Type-A personality Kate Gosselin rule the sofa-talk-time with her husband on “Jon & Kate Plus 8” made us wonder when Jon would reach for that doobie. I mean, this girl can TALK. Poor guy always seemed desperate for some type of relaxer in order to deal with old gabber-jaws. Still Americans fell in love with this family of ten even if we found Kate rather charming with some reluctance. Unable to conceive children despite her young age, Kate and Jon turned to IVF and first had twins Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate (“Mady”) in 2000. Then in 2004, the couple made the news when Kate birthed sextuplets on May 10, 2004. The rest is history. The six children were named Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, Leah Hope and Joel Kevin.
  • Ryder Russell Robinson. Bingham Hawn Bellamy
Ryder Russell Robinson. Bingham Hawn Bellamy
The boy’s name Ryder got a real shot in the arm on the American naming charts in 2004 when Kate Hudson named her first son Ryder Russell (his father is The Black Crowes front man Chris Robinson). Hudson was part of the new wave of young Hollywood embracing motherhood at a relatively young age (she was not quite 25 years old). Now that the couple is divorced, Kate is with another musical front man (Matthew Bellamy) from the band Muse. Together they have a son called Bingham Hawn Bellamy (b. July 2011) who they refer to as just Bing. We don’t expect this one to show up on the naming charts any time soon, though! Way too unusual and surnamey for most people’s tastes. Bingham is apparently Bellamy’s mom’s maiden name, but Bing Russell was also the name of Kurt Russell’s dad. So the name, while strange, has family importance to the couple.
  • Mia Honey Threapleton. Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes
Mia Honey Threapleton. Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes
English actress Kate Winslet has two children by two different husbands. Her daughter with director Jim Threapleton was born on October 12, 2000 when Kate was barely 25 years old. They named her Mia Honey Threapleton (Winslet and Threapleton divorced a year later). Back in the year 2000, the girl’s name Mia was barely a Top 100 favorite and today it’s a Top 10. Winslet’s son with her second husband, director Sam Mendes, is named Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes (b. 2003). Winslet and Mendes divorced in 2010. Wonder if husband #3 followed by kid #3 will be in her future? We’ll have to wait and see.
  • Nancy and Adalaide Kelley
    Nancy and Adalaide Kelley
Katherine Heigl and singer-husband Josh Kelley adopted a baby girl from South Korea in 2009. Katherine chose the name Nancy Leigh for the girl (in honor of her own mother and sister). They call her Naleigh for short. Recently in 2012, the couple adopted their second daughter domestically. Heigl said: ""Her full name is Adalaide Marie Hope Kelley - Adalaide because of my great-grandmother, Marie after my middle name, and Hope because that is what the [adoption] process became."
  • Suri Cruise
    Suri Cruise
Probably the most famous celebrity kid in Hollywood is the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Suri Cruise is famous in her own right; a little fashionista! TomKat has never gone public for the reason behind Suri's unusual moniker, but apparently it's a rare diminutive of Sarah (which means "princess" in Hebrew). Similar to Sadie. Yes, Suri one of those funky Hollywood celebrity names, but somehow this one works. It's cool and fitting for the little future superstar.
  • Natalia and Gianna Bryant
    Natalia and Gianna Bryant
Even through superstar basketball player Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa started divorce proceedings at the end of 2011, they still managed to produce two darling little girls out of this marriage. So all was not lost. Their first daughter was born January 19, 2003 and named Natalia Diamante Bryant. Daughter #2 Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant came along on May 1, 2006. Both monikers have a distinct Italian flair. Very pretty, very feminine and very sophisticated.
  • Mason Dash and Penelope Scotland Disick
Mason Dash and Penelope Scotland Disick
Mason Dash Disick came into this world on December 14, 2009. While the name Mason was already on the rise, Kourtney still further positively impacted the usage of this name by bestowing it on the newest generation of Kardashians. In 2010, the name soared to #12 on the charts and in 2011, Mason became the 2nd most popular boy's name in America. Apparently Americans are no longer keeping up with the Joneses. They are "Keeping up with the Kardashians" now. Now that baby Penelope arrived in July 2012 we expect this old mythological female name to garner some attention, as well.
  • Camden Jack Cutler
    Camden Jack Cutler
Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari who is famous for being…well, for being in “reality”…has enough celebrity cachet now that I guess we should all care what she names her baby. She began dating Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in 2010 and in the midst of their on-again-off-again-on-again engagement they managed to bring new life into “reality”. Cavallari gave birth to a son Camden Jack Cutler on August 8, 2012. Quasi-celebrity TV personalities Nick & Vanessa Lachey followed suit a month later when they named their first son Camden John. Camden is a cool enough sounding name, and C.J. is an obvious nickname. It’s very modern and surnamey. But it mostly makes us think of Camden Yards (home of the Baltimore Orioles).
