Etymology & Historical Origin - Jaydin

Jaydin is yet another spelling variation of the ultra popular Jayden, a modern American coinage of the late 20th century (1994). Jayden was created from the super common “-aden” suffix (think: Aiden, Brayden, Hayden and Kaden). Although a stretch, the Jayden names could have also been inspired by the Hebrew Yadon (English: Jadon) which is said to mean either "thankful" or "he will judge". Although unlike Ethan, Isaiah or Gideon, it is doubtful that Jaydin is a Biblical revival name. It is much more likely a simple respelling of the ϋber-trendy Jayden. As invented names, Jaydin and his/her similar sounding brothers and sisters really have no meaning.

Popularity of the Name Jaydin

Jaydin is an Americanized respelling of the unisex name Jayden; although the spelling of Jaydin is used almost exclusively on baby boys (it has not yet appeared on the female naming charts). This particular spelling first appeared on the charts in 2004 but it really hasn’t seen much success. There are now ten spelling variations of Jayden which is – dare we say – a little on the obnoxious side. As a masculine name, Jayden, Jaden and Jaiden are the three most popular choices today. For girls, parents prefer the spellings of Jayden, Jadyn and Jaiden. Have we adequately confused you? Jayden and Hailey are two super fashionable names in the American lexicon today that get top honors for being the most “kreatively” respelled.
